Help for note-learning

Back in 2020 when lockdown was beginning, Denise created MIDI files for all the voice parts of Now sleeps and A spotless rose and the other two pieces in Paul Mealor's set. At the same time, Derrick made videos of himself conducting performances of the pieces, for us to sing along with in lieu of meeting for rehearsals. It's all very helpful for note-learning.

Denise's MIDI files of the individual Crimson petal voice lines, and Derrick's sing-along videos, are here:

You may be able to play these direct from the website, but your web browser might say it can't play the MIDI files. It will, though, let you download the files, and once they're downloaded your device will probably have some way to play them. Alternatively, some of the MIDI files (recognisable by the .mid filename extension) have matching .mp3 files, which your browser will play more easily.

There are audio tracks of
  • Envoi (Fly, white butterflies)
  • When David heard
  • The blue bird
  • The Mealor "Now sleeps the crimson petal" set
on-line at this address: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lyBqfHckfVvyHnBPpSduz57KAKr3Qoqv
along with some other pieces which aren't in current repertoire. You should be able to download them or to listen to them direct through your browser.

Stop Press for Tenors: Denise has created sing-along "synthesised voice" files of the separate parts of Other Plans. The tenors' one is here. It opens with four bars of the bass part, to set the tempo and pitch. We can provide the corresponding files for other voices if anybody would like them - please just ask.
