Music to listen to
[April 2022 update: currently, the useful link in this post is the one for the Crimson Petal voice lines. Back in 2020 when lockdown was beginning, Denise created MIDI files for all the voice parts of Now sleeps and A spotless rose and the other two pieces in Paul Mealor's set. At the same time, Derrick made videos of himself conducting performances of the pieces, for us to sing along with in lieu of meeting for rehearsals. Follow the link and you will find all that material. It's very helpful for note-learning.
You may find that your web browser won't play the MIDI files for you. It will, though, let you download the files, and once they're downloaded your device will probably have some way to play them. Alternatively, some of the MIDI files (recognisable by the .mid filename extension) have matching .mp3 files, which your browser will play more easily.]
For any of us who find Spotify a bit troublesome, I've put audio tracks of

Practice guidance 18th March 2020
Hello everyone
Hope
you’re all well and healthy! Have a look at the quick movement of the
Mealor tonight (the ooooo one, just remember that nice ah vowel with oh
shape, and not ü). Denise has provided some fantastic midi files you can
use to help with learning!!
...
Can I recommend practising the Bingham with a metronome as the hardest thing is keeping the pulse going!
...
If you have some time, find a spot in the Weelkes where you know you are weakest and really try and nail the tuning. Particular places with lots of accidentals!
There’s also a lovely recording of the weelkes to listen to on Spotify
Listen for the sense of line and the big 2 in a bar beat they make.
Also
for those interested in what I was on about last week about
timelessness in harmony with the Bingham, here is a link to Bach St
Matthew opening
Hopefully those links work
Stay healthy!
Thanks
Derrick
