Wednesday night rehearsal 9th August

A good rehearsal last night but still a few reminders for the concert on SUNDAY- if you haven't marked these in your music - now is y our chance!
Scotland at Night
Dusk
Lower parts and 2nd sops - remember to hum bars 19-end 23
Bar 7 - look up - esp at word 'love'
Bar 8 - don't diminuendo till 'tion' of determination
Bar 17 - more crescendo
Refinery
Revise the rhythm of bar 27 - so that it is correct in concert
'ch' of torch!
rythym a bit more skippy in bars 5-6
momentary bars 22-23 staccato/separate
Ceilidh
First bars lower parts - not too fast! Listen to the sops
Crescendo over 2 bars in 11-12; 15-16; 23-24
Simmer Dim
B natural in the basses - don't go flat
Bar 12 - sops/alto - F natural not too loud (sops); D natural not too sharp (altos)
Bar 19 - diminuendo in basses
From bar 14 onwards - keep legato line - not sing sep notes

Relax!
Bar 22 - sops - make a difference between mf and mp

Good! but watch Derrick and respond to his dynamics and tempo changes

Long notes needs shape
Generally if notes get higher, needs crescendo , if notes get lower, needs diminuendo
On the Underground - WILL BE GOING STRAIGHT ON FROM DREAMS TO SUBWAY PIRAHNAS - NO BREAK
Dreams
Bar 7 - sops the note is A flat - major third
Bar 13 - accents need to be done
Bar 12 - sops and altos - diminuendo as marked!
Subway Pirahnas
Bar 13 - fish is full length - 'sh' on 2nd beat - NOT EARLY
Accents bars 21 and 36
Bar 65? - sops DON'T RUSH (you know which bar this is!)
Bar 62 - make 'sch' of school
Bar 76 - sop, ten2 and bass - final accent on quaver
Sleep Well
Bar 28 - sop - back into tempo
Bar 64 - the upbeat is in tempo don't be late
Bar 33 - not abrasive in alto and tenor
Lucy
Will Repeat! - 2nd time round - watch Derrick as will change tempo etc on the day
Basses - support the other parts but do not drown them out!
Final 2 bars - there are 2 cutoffs - one for T/B first and then one for S/A

Lower parts - bars 12 and 14 - dimuendo at beg of crescendo
Bar 39 - soprano - make line legato not sep notes
After Culloden
Bar 10 - bass - starts on the bar not before with upper parts
Bar 25 - eye contact to keep tempo
Bar 26 - sops to be quieter
Bar 50 onwards - gets quicker
Bar 57 - goes into quavers!
Bar 68-73 - all to crescendo
Bar 76 - crescendo to end
