Douglas' notes, 20th May

Czech Song

Kay went through the Pronunciation again including verse 2, so check with someone else if you are unsure of the correct Czech. Remember the start of each line "kdish do" and "Na myle na"

Cloudburst

Bar 46 onwards - make the words Bell like and very Legato.

Bar 53 Loud start and very Buoyant. Make sure the Triplets are well supported and clearly defined. "Sangre" - Roll the "r".

Decrescendo when the soprano starts at Bar 57. Ollie will tell you when to finish the chord. We will be doing Cloudburst slowly than we have been rehearsing it.

On Hillisuvi

Ollie will give a G. Starts very PP then crescendo with the words at bar 7. Ending was not so good

Go straight to Kannarbik for which a C will be given. This was well done.

Spring Time of the Year

What a smooth song this is is! On Page 3 we need to hear the melody as it goes from tenor to soprano etc. The beginning is P and we need to follow the dynamics more closely.

Debussy

The tenor entries at bar 22 and27 need to be more rhythmic and in general the rhythms need to be more accurate But it was really Nice.

Not much in the notes I'm afraid but we were checking and polishing well known pieces by this stage.
