Anne's notes, 30th April

As you'll have guessed from Chris's email [that is, if you were one of the many not there last night!] we spent quite a lot of time doing the Hebrew songs, with piano [as we will be singing it with piano and violin hopefully]. The best thing to do if you weren't there is to listen to the Youtube version Chris forwarded and try to sing your part along with the recording. It will be important to know how you intend to find your note from one movement to the next as you don't always get a note from the instruments first.

Then the few who were there started to dwindle with tales of compulsory attendance at Beltane celebrations. We picked up copies of the Czech song we will be singing [with Svatobor hopefully!] and a pronunciation guide. Everyone who is coming to SuĊĦice please write in the pronunciation on your copy, we won't have a lot of time for rehearsal. We sang it a few times to la, not difficult in the main.

It was a bit like "there were ten green bottles" after that as tiredness overcame a few so when we were down to not many more than one per part we stopped and had a cuppa!

No real notices, but remember it's the Annual General Meeting on 14 May and let Alison [who will chair] or me have items for the agenda by next Wednesday at the latest.
