Robin's rehearsal notes 6th June 2007

Two more rehearsals until French Institute thing. Ollie has already
sent round program for it.

- Tourdion

When singing the melody it goes really quite fast. Might be best to
practice it slow and speed it up.

Sing the first beat if the bar stronger.

For the pronounication:

Faisons is fuson (kinda) not fayson

Last line of section B ?Chantons et? we sing the ?s?

Donc has a ?c? sound at the end

?t?s are soft

The sop.s should sing the tune louder.

- Dindirin

It is not major. (Sop. take note)

Words

Tree top (not tree tops)

Dana is more danya

When singing try to remember the structure

Visualizing the story helps you remember the words.

Chorus should be mp then 4/4 bit is mf then 3/4 bit should be clearer
as something interesting is happening.

- Irish Blessing

This piece has dynamics. Bit complicated to write down. You might
need to see someone?s copy.

Start mp then p at bar 3. Crescendo from the ?May the sun?? to ?the
rains?. Bring out the words ?sun, shine, warm, face?. On ?rains?,
altos and tenors keep quavers legato. Decrescendo to pp from ?fall
soft? to ?And unto?. Swell through ?fields?. Crescendo up to mf from
?until we meet? to ?God?. Decrescendo until ?hand?. Repeat is ?p?

Be aware of the ?d? at the end of hand and make sure you pronounce the
?g? of god.

Don?t slow down- watch the up-beat

- Aurora Rutilat

From bar 14 to bar 30 it stays forte.

In bars 1 and 30 where it goes quiet, try for a warm sound

Men should practice bar 14, page 2.

- Puddock

Men- Bar 10: make sure that the ?dock? comes in the right place.

Rhythm- most important

- Needs work

Hide and Seek

Page 12, extra SAT parts are Kay and Susan (S); Natalie (A); Chris (T).

Needs work.

Try and find a copy of this to listen to.
